Mona Rae "Monie-rae"  Booth was born in Alexandria, LA, January 5, 1954, to the late Lawrence Allen Bennett and Iris Dean White Bennett. She passed away in Thibodaux, LA, August 16, 2024. She was a longtime nurse in the Hammond area with over 35 years of service and leaves behind a large work family and many loved ones in the Thibodaux, Hammond and Boyce, La area. 

Mona is survived by her daughters, Leah Ann Gravois (Robert “Ross” Gravois), and Mary Katherine Whitehead Watkins; stepdaughters, Amy Johnson, and Amanda Deshotel (Ray Deshotel)

;grandchildren, Rory, Noble, Lawrence “Law”, and Bailey Gravois; Amelia Watkins, Nola LeBlanc, Colby and Angel Deshotel, Rachel and Jordan Booth, Shaylee Johnson; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Micheal Booth; brother, Clayton Bennett; and sisters, Carmen Ann Smith and Blanche Dean Mathews Most importantly, she leaves behind the elusive Bigfoot whom she researched, loved and believed in for her entire life, may she now find out the answers she always sought. 

Visitation will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 North Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, LA, Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until memorial services at 11:30 a.m. A small graveside blessing will follow at Dark-Neal Cemetery on Red Store Hill in Boyce, La on Sunday, Aug. 25th at 9:30 a.m.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor for the maintenance and caretaking of her beloved family graveyard may be made to Dark Neal Cemetery Fund, attn: Clay Bennett, 238 Red Store Hill Rd.
