Mollymae Flanagan Thompson

Mollymae Flanagan Thompson, peacefully passed away at her Hammond residence on Monday, October 7, 2024 at the age of 90. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 7, 1934, to the late Emile James Flanagan and Mollie Stass Flanagan. Mollymae began her teaching career, that spanned over 50 years, at Albany Elementary at the young age of 19. After her first retirement she continued as a teacher at numerous schools throughout Livingston and Tangipahoa parishes. In her spare time she enjoyed watching the hummingbirds in her garden while she tended to her beautiful flowers. She was a true American patriot, with a strong love for her country which she helped by shaping the minds of the youth through Gods gift of being an educator. Mollymae was also a proud member of the Ponchatoula Order of Eastern Star. What she cherished the most was her family, spending time with them making memories that will last forever. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her sons, Louis Emile Thompson, and Terrell Flanagan Thompson Sr. (and wife Lisa); grandchildren, Cody Emile Thompson (and Helena), Kyle Louis Thompson (and wife Layla), Jessica Emily Buff (and husband Mitchell), Samantha Elizabeth Thompson, and Terrell "TJ" Flanagan Thompson Jr.; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Alora Buff; as well as her lifelong friend, Karin Pierre.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Emile James Flanagan Sr. and Mollie Stass Flanagan; brother, Emile James Flanagan Jr.; and a sister-in-law, Doris Bignar Flanagan. 

Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, October 11, 2024 at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond at 12:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Bro. Steve Miller will officiate the services with entombment to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
