Mildred Dunn, 73, died February 9, at her home in Tickfaw with her family by her side. Millie was born January 17,1945 in Amite La, to Ikey and Elma Cutrer. In 1963 Millie began a thirty year carer with South Central Bell and retired in 1993, where she was a union representative and voice of help for workers rights. She was featured among "The Voices" brochure and recognized for her uncanny ability to service needs and provide customer care. Those award winning attributes followed her into her next career of 12 years at North Oaks Hospital as a patient Representative. She offered care and hospitality to all those she met and was easily recognized by her large smile and friendly greetings. In her later years she continued in her services to the community as a volunteer at Eagle Heights Community Church,CASA, Mary bird Perkins, and many other organizations.
Millie was a true servant but nothing pleased her more than her role as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and wife. Nothing would stop her from always being there to love and encourage each of them along the way. Along with her biological children are many others who proudly called her "Mama Millie." She was truly a mama to all and always willing to offer a listening ear.
Millie is survived by her husband Larry Allen Dunn, Brother Charles Cutrer and sister Audrey Cutrer. Her children Kevin Dunn, Craig Dunn, and Lynette Taylor. Daughter and Son in Laws, Lisa Dunn, Beth Dunn, and Michael Taylor. Grand Children Joshua Dunn, Caleb Dunn, Hannah Dunn, Christian Dunn, Jordan Dunn, Grant Dunn, Joel Dunn, and Milanya Taylor. Great Grand Children Elise Dunn and Ella Kate.
She is preceded in death by her father Ikee Cutrer, Mother Elma Brown Cutrer, Her sister Avos Partin, brothers Billy Cutrer, Carl Cutrer and Arvy Cutrer.
Family and friends will be received at Eagle Heights Church, 47318 Rufus Bankston Rd Hammond, Louisiana, on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm.
Services will be held at Eagle Heights on Wednesday, at 12:00p.m.
Interment will follow at Emmaus Baptist Church Cemetery in Tickfaw, Louisiana.
