Milba "Janice" Landry

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Milba Janice Landry, who left this world on March 30, 2025 at the age of 83. Born on March 10, 1942, in Springfield, Louisiana, Milba grew up on her family's cherished strawberry farm, a legacy started by her grandfather, Santo Bazile, and passed down through generations. She carried on this tradition alongside her father, Freddie Bazile, and later, her own daughter Rhonda, ensuring that Landry-Poche Farm has continued to thrive for nearly a century.

Milba was a woman of many talents, including her exceptional skill as a cake decorator, crafting beautiful and delicious wedding and birthday cakes that brought joy to many. In addition to her creativity, she dedicated years of service to the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Department from July 1997 to April 2012.

Above all, Milba was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She shared 61 wonderful years with her beloved husband, Ronald K. "Pudgie" Landry, and built a loving family. She leaves behind her children, Rhonda Poche (Darryl), Michelle Traylor (Dennis), and Mark Landry (Tiffany); grandchildren Joshua Poche, Jonathan Poche (Suzana), Kristin Traylor (Anita), Ashleigh Traylor, Jesse Landry, Destiny Decotta (Blake), and Chase Wright; great-grandchildren Daisy Poche and Cypress Poche and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by her sister Marie Rodriguez (Len) and brothers Michael Bazile, Mervin Bazile, and Freddie J. Bazile.

Milba was preceded in death by her parents, Freddie and Maudie Bazile; her sister Linda Triche; mother-in-law & father-in-law, Ann Barber Landry and O.T. Landry; sister-n-law Tami Landry; brother-in-law, Michael Landry; and beloved niece Hope Owens and nephew Mervin Bazile, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Milba's life at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, 100 W Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM.

Interment will follow at Carter Cemetery in Springfield, Louisiana.

Milba's warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family and community will be deeply missed, but her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause close to her heart.
