Michelle "Shelly" Cornay

Michelle Leigh Cornay (Shelly) passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 51 on Friday, May 14, 2021.  She was born February 24, 1970 in New Orleans, LA.  She resided the past 15 years in Hammond, LA in a group home operated by Evergreen Life Services where she received excellent care and was part of the Billville Group Home Family.  

She is preceded in death by grandparents Alice C Johnson, Robert E Johnson, Sr., Alberta Molaison Cornay Garcia Miangollara,  great grandparents Elsa O Cambias, Ada M Johnson, Bertha Molaison, Isabell Lenfant Cornay; aunt Beverly Johnson Martin Anwyll and uncle Robert E Johnson, Jr.  

She is survived by her parents Barbara Johnson Cornay and Leon F Cornay, III, sister Melissa Cornay Bickham (Mark), aunt Yvette Garcia St. Romain (Dennis), uncles Joseph L Garcia, & Paul E Johnson (Diane), aunt Bonnalyn K Johnson, nieces  Katherine Michelle Bickham and Kristina Schwing Bickham and a host of cousins and family friends.  

A Celebration of Life Memorial Mass will be at St Matthew the Apostle Church, 10021 Jefferson Hwy, River Ridge, LA 70123, on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11:00 am.  Doors will open at 10:30 am.  After the service please join us in remembering our beloved angel followed by a celebration of her life at Augie's Restaurant, 6005 Jefferson Hwy., Harahan, LA.
