Michael Wayne Gatlin

Michael Wayne Gatlin, 63, was born on August 24, 1958 and passed away on January 24, 2022.  He was a resident of Albany, LA and a member of Natalbany Baptist Church.  His favorite activities were hunting and fishing.  He is survived by his mother, Florence Starkey Gatlin, one brother, Robert “Lonzo” Gatlin, a daughter, Christie Benton and husband Lathan, a nephew, Robert Gatlin, a great-nephew, Myles Gatlin, and a great-niece Claudia Fletcher and husband Gene.  He was preceded in death by a wife, Kathleen Hebert, his father, Leland Gatlin, a great-nephew, Rey Gatlin, his maternal grandparents William “Bill” and Irmalea Starkey, his paternal grandparents George and Aby Gatlin.  He came from a very loving family  and was blessed with many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins some that have gone before him and some that are still with us.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, LA from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with funeral service at 12:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at Marten Cemetery off Hwy. 1064.
