Michael Paul Stilley

Michael Paul Stilley, beloved husband, stepfather, grandfather, and brother, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the age of 52, after a sudden battle with cancer that took us all by surprise.  He was born on January 20, 1971, to the late John Franklin Stilley and Carolyn Cary Stilley.
Mike had a mischievous side to his personality, and his ornery nature often brought a smile to the faces of those closest to him.
Despite his reserved demeanor, those who knew Mike understood the depths of his compassion.  He possessed a genuine and caring nature that shone through in his interactions.
To be close to Mike was to love him.
Mike's passing leaves a deep emptiness in the lives of his loved ones.  He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Stilley, who stood by his side through thick and thin, sharing a deep love and cherished companionship.  He is also survived by his stepchildren, Rebecca McCloskey (Sean McCloskey), Robert Legere III, Roxanne Legere (Drew Greaves), and Jeanette Whitney (George Whitney), who held a special place in his heart.
In addition to his immediate family, Mike is survived by his siblings, John Franklin Stilley, Jr. (Diane Stilley) and Dianne Stilley Cantrell.
Though Mike's grandchildren, Augustus Greaves and Foster Greaves, were born just before his passing and will not have the opportunity to remember him firsthand, the stories shared by their family will ensure that they know the impact he had and the love he held for them.
The sudden loss of Mike has left a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though we mourn his absence, we find comfort in our shared memories and love.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
