Michael Anthony Vilardo

Michael Anthony Vilardo passed away at his home on Thursday, March 11, 2021 in Loranger, LA. He was 56. Michael was born on August 21, 1964, the youngest of three, to Josephine Inzinna Vilardo and the late Salvador Vilardo.

Mike was a proud Italian and the epitome of a family man. Nothing came before his mother, wife, children, and grandchildren. Everything he did, he did for them. In addition, he was a friend of all friends. His dedication to lifelong friends Tom Candiotta, Mark Emerson, Brent Pizzolato, Tony Fagan, Shawn Allen, Sweet Man, David Canale, and Paul Liuzza, Sr. was like no other.  

A perfect day for Mike was having his children and grandchildren over to spend the day. This was followed by a ride in his vette with the top down and his adoring wife by his side; all the while talking on the phone to his buddies about fishing, sports, and most recently his relationship with Our Lady through the Rosary to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Michael is survived by his wife of 30 years, Robin Robertson Vilardo; his mother, Josephine Inzinna Vilardo; daughter, Micah Vilardo; daughter, Brianne Vilardo and her husband, Kullen Rogers; son, Salvador Vilardo; along with four grandchildren, Kylen Bourgeois, Michael Vilardo, Bentley Davis, and Kora Bourgeois; brother, Salvador Vilardo; sister Cynthia Alessi; 5 nieces; and 2 nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Salvador Vilardo; his maternal grandparents, Joe and Virginia Inzinna; and his paternal grandparents, Joe and Bessie Vilardo.

Relatives and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2021 with Fr. Reuben Dykes presiding. Interment will follow at Colonial Cemetery in Independence, Louisiana.
