Melvie Marie Jones

Melvie Marie Jones  passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 74.  She was born on Monday, June 18, 1945 in Hammond, Louisiana to the late Victoria Peco and James M. Morgan.  She was a resident of Tickfaw, Louisiana.

Marie is survived by her significant other, Ivan Bourgeois; daughters, Shay Gourgues (Bernard) and Sissy Ogima; sons, Beau Foster (Tenita) and Mike Foster (Donna); grandchildren, Candice and Bryce, Lauren and Ben, Kyle and Lisa, Beau, Steven and April, Rebecca, Sam, Joshua and Callie, Kayla, Blake, Richard and Julie, Jenna and Earl, Mark, Scott, Frankie, and Byron; and many loved great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Marie was also preceded in death by her two daughters, Shirley Morgan and Darlene Carlton, her grandson, Bradley Melancon, three brothers, and one sister.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday, March 2, 2020, at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, beginning at 10:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 12.

Interment will follow in Morgan Family Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana.
