Melba Dorsey Chipley

Melba was born May 25, 1935, in Barnes, MS, to the late Roy and Hester Brock Dorsey.  She passed away June 5, 2021, in Hammond, LA at age 86.  She is survived by her children, Sheryl Till (Don), Vivian Johnson, Melba Anne Peters, and Vanessa Harrison; brothers, Ormond Dorsey and Lailon Dorsey (Frankie); grandchildren, Chris Till, Leigh Sims, Cherish Groves, Jarrod Johnson, and Faith Harrison; and great grandchildren, Blake, Olivia and Emily Lovette, and Grace, Carter and Luke Groves.  Melba is preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Kermit Chipley; brother, Donald Dorsey, sons in law, Gary Peters and Brian Harrison; and granddaughter, Sheryl Ann Johnson.  A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 3rd at 2:00 pm at Lamkin Memorial Baptist Church in Bellamy, AL.
