Melanie Diane Coxe Kinchen

Melanie Diane Coxe Kinchen passed quietly in her sleep on June 20, 2023. She was 63 years old. Melanie was a devoted Christian who displayed the love of Christ in every aspect of her life. She found joy in caring for her family, teaching the Word of God, and tending her chickens. 

Melanie is survived by her loving husband, Aswell Leonard “Hot Shot” Kinchen, daughter Jaime Kinchen Dorsey and son-in-law Willie Dorsey, son Jeremy Kinchen and daughter-in-law Laurie Kinchen, Grandchildren, Allie Rebecca Dorsey, Kaylie Rachael Dorsey, Sydney Grace Kinchen and Londyn Kate Kinchen, parents Carolyn Traylor and John Traylor, siblings, Lisa Coxe Kluka, Carl Coxe, Elizabeth Coxe, Lavern Traylor, and Dennis Traylor, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends. 

In death she is reunited with her beloved son, Jake Wesley Kinchen, father Milton Coxe, brothers Mickey Coxe and Gary Traylor, niece, Lexie Coxe, and grandmothers, Mary Ratcliff and Jessie Coxe. 

It is well with her soul.  “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?” John 14:1-3

Family and friends will be received at Pine Grove Baptist Church, 21949 Hwy 444 Livingston, Louisiana 70754, on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. 

A Funeral Service will be held at Pine Grove Baptist Church, on Friday at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Terry Lobell officiating.

Interment will follow at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Livingston, Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 21949 Hwy 444 Livingston, Louisiana 70754.
