Max Whinrey Summers, Sr. passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 86. Â He was born in Halltown, Missouri on Route 66 on Saturday, July 29, 1933 to the late Loren E. and Mary L. Summers. Â He was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana.
Max graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Agriculture. He then moved to New Orleans and started his career at the Wildlife and Fisheries as a Marine Biologist. Max served in the United States Army at Fort Detrick, Maryland.
Max is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia E. Summers; son, Max W. Summers, Jr. (Angela); daughter, Kelly S. Huizar (Troy); grandchildren, Nicholas and Savannah Summers, and Brinna and J.D. Huizar; sister, Karen S. Grisham (Bill); nephews, Tony and Doug Grisham; brother-in-law, Joseph E. Elder.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Friday, November 15, 2019 beginning at 1:00 PM until the funeral service begins at 3:00 PM.
