Maurella "Renee" Griffin

Maurella "Renee" Griffin passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at the Richard Murphy Hospice House in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 45.  She was born on Sunday, November 28, 1971, in Hammond, Louisiana to Maurice Battice Effler and the late Wanda Sue Reid.  She was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

Renee is survived by her daughter, Shelbi and her husband Brandon Ransom; two sons, Noah Effler and Brycen Griffin; three grandchildren, Jaelynn Ransom, Paxton Effler, and Dagen Ransom; father, Maurice Battice Effler; and two sisters, Rebecca Taylor and Crystal Dillard.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Sue Reid.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Bedico Baptist Church, 28156 Highway 22 East, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 2:00 pm.  Visitation will be held at Bedico Baptist Church from 1:00 pm until service time.  A gathering will follow the memorial service at the Effler residence, 21499 Forest Lane, Ponchatoula, Louisiana  70454.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Richard Murphy Hospice Foundation, 16013 Halbert Rd., Hammond, LA 70403, in Renee's memory.
