Mattie Felder Ourso

Mattie Felder Ourso passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the age of 83.  She was born on Friday, August 25, 1939 in Ponchatoula, Louisiana to the late Emma Mattie Turnage and the late Roy Leon Felder.  She was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

Mattie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She absolutely adored her grandchildren.  Some of her fondest memories were when she drove the St. Joseph school-children to basketball games and field trips.  All of the kids would want to ride in Mrs. Mattie's car.  She was always fun and full of life.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

Mattie is survived by her daughters, Tracy Humphryes and Kelly Sullivan; grandchildren, Carly Humphryes, Brady Humphryes, and Reis Franks; and sister, Linda Simon.

In addition to her parents, Mattie is also preceded in death by her husband, Russell J. Ourso; and her siblings, Morris Felder and Ethel Vicknair.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, 100 W. Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Saturday, August 26, 2023, beginning at 8:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 10:00 AM. 

Interment will follow in Wetmore Cemetery, Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
