Mattie Faye Courtney

Mattie Faye Courtney, of Walker, Louisiana, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the age of 81. Mattie Faye was a faithful servant to God, and a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She is loved and missed by so many.

Mattie Faye is survived by her daughters, Doris Severio (Jerry), Mary Blake (Timmie), and Lisa Woodall (Lee); grandchildren, Jerry Avants Jr. (Autumn), Danielle Cooner (Joe), Ashley Avants (Kenny), Chris Melvin (Renee), Cameron Severio, Renee Scott (Robert), Kelly Stewart (Dustin), Adam Woodall (Gina), and Corey Woodall (Bethany); siblings, Yvonne Woods, James William Courtney, and Ray Courtney; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Zeona and Ellie Courtney; great grandson, Hunter Allen Scott; sister, Marie Wren; and brother, Charlie Courtney.

Services will be held privately.

Mattie Faye will be laid to rest at Ellie Courtney Cemetery in Walker, Louisiana.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Avants, Jr., Adam Woodall, Tyler Scott, Jackson Stewart, Colton Adams, and Corey Woodall. Honorary pallbearer will be Kollin Triche.
