Mary Ann "Max" Clement Stevenson, age 80, passed away surrounded by family at Summerfield Senior Living in Hammond on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Max retired as a State Trooper in Alaska then went on to retire from Wildlife and Fisheries after many years of dedicated service. She was an avid hunter and fisherwoman who loved to be outdoors. Max enjoyed cooking, working outside whether it was tending her to flowers, fruit trees, in her garden in her greenhouse or just working around the house. After a long day she enjoyed her Jack Daniels to make the day complete. She was a wonderful sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
She leaves behind her sister, LaVerne Arceneaux; god child, Robyn Williams; sister-in-law, Garnet Clement; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her infant daughter, Kristi Stanga; parents, Virgil Clement Sr. and Esther Lena Danna Clement; sister, Vernie Ann Spring; and her brother, Virgil Clement Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, family time is from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Celebration of Life Service will begin at 4:00 p.m.
