Surrounded by her family she so dearly loved, Mary M. Ruffin Wellman of Patterson La.,  went to her heavenly home January 18, 2021.  Affectionately known as Ms. Bobbie, Mimi and Nanny, she was an avid cook and gardener and cherished time spent with family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph S. Ruffin, her son, Michael J. Ruffin; her second husband, James G. Wellman; her parents, brothers, and others that she cherished.  She is survived by daughters Eileen and Kay Ruffin, stepdaughters Pam, Bonnie, Diane and Denise Wellman, sister Jo Ann Maraist, sister-in-law Jeannie Fruge, 10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grand-children (with 2 more on the way).  She was a strong independent lady, Always kind , sweet and cheerful with just the right amount of spunk and spice.   She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 255 North 8th Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 11:00 am.  A visitation will be held following the mass on the same day at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, 100 W. Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 beginning at 12:30 pm until 3:30 pm.

Interment will be held the following day, Friday January 29, 2021, in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Patterson, Louisiana at 11:00 AM.

Face masks are now mandatory to attend any visitation or service at the funeral home. Thank you for your cooperation.
