Mary "Elaine" Grace Gebbia passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 86. She was born on Wednesday, November 25, 1936 in Husser, Louisiana to the late Thelma Joiner Grace and the late Leo Grace, Sr. She was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Elaine retired from Southeastern Louisiana University's post office after 25 years. She loved holidays and decorating for them. She also loved gardening. Elaine loved anything that had to do with beauty. She had a strong faith and prayed the rosary every day until the end of her life. Above all, Elaine lived for her children and her grandchildren.
Elaine is survived by her children, Cheryl Clark and her husband, Buddy, Carla Kirkland and her husband, Charlie, Larry Macaluso, Jr. and his wife, Kathy, and Lisa Genco and her husband, Ron; grandchildren, Melissa Smith, Jennifer Applewhite, Larry Macaluso III, Lane Macaluso, Nicholas Macaluso, Jayce Genco, and Kyleigh Genco; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, David Grace and his wife, Pat, Dewayne Grace and his wife, Julia, and Leo Grace, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Elaine was also preceded in death by her husband, Nick Gebbia, Sr.; sister, Marie Zachary; and brother, Donnell Grace.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM. A funeral mass will follow the visitation at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 55720 Hwy 445, Husser, Louisiana 70442, at 11:00 AM.
Interment will follow in St. Dominic Catholic Church Cemetery, Husser, Louisiana.
