Mary Ida Dyer

Mary Ida Dyer passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 17, 2023, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the age of 93. She was born on Saturday, November 23, 1929, in Osyka, Mississippi, and was a resident of Independence, Louisiana.

Mary is survived by her two sons, Richard W. Russell (Debra) and Glenn Russell; grandchildren, Brittany R. Desselle (AL) and Conner Russell; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Samuel Desselle; niece, Tammy Amar; great-niece, Jessica Hung (Zachary); and great-nephew, Justin Ridgel (Shelby).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cosmo and Mary Leto and Mannie Cleveland; spouses, Benjamin Russell and Merlin Dyer Sr.; sister, Tina Ann Perkins; and nephew, Tommy Perkins.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Saturday, August 19, 2023, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 3:00 pm.

Interment will follow at Colonial Cemetery in Independence, Louisiana.
