Mary Frances Campise Costa, 95, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021.  Growing up in Tickfaw, LA, she was the oldest of nine children born to Pasquale and Frances Gentilly Campise of Tickfaw, on April 1, 1926.  Her employment of over 40 years, Tic-Tock Shoppe in Hammond, LA, allowed her to interact with many people.  She will be remembered for her outgoing personality and genuine concern for others.  Mary enjoyed being outdoors and visiting with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she was very proud.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Angelo J. Costa, Sr.  Also preceding her in death were her five brothers and four sisters, whom she dearly loved and cared for.

Survivors include her three children:  Daughter, Janet M. Costa (Bankston) Quarles (Mike), of Hammond, and sons Angelo J. “Sonny” Costa, Jr. (Linda Ronquillo) of Loranger, and Raymond Costa (Kathy) of Hammond.  

Other survivors are her grandchildren:  Holly Bankston (Gautier) of Covington, James W. “Jimmy” Bankston, Jr. and Jason A. Bankston of Covington; Rebecca Costa Chapotel (David) of Madisonville, Summer Costa (Roberts) Cannizaro (Lee) of Madisonville, Emily Ronquillo Gautreau (Titan) of Loranger, and Ray Costa and Rachel Costa of Hammond.

Great-grandchildren are Jenny Gautier, Aimee Gautier, and Thomas Joseph “T.J.” Gautier (Gabrielle), all of Covington and Parker and Taylor Chapotel of Madisonville; Laney and Gavin Roberts of Mandeville, and Codi Cannizaro of Mandeville, and Lorelei, Phoebe, Corbin and Matilda Gautreau of Loranger.

Great-grandchildren are Haley and Andrew Robinson, Hunter Creekmore of Covington; Ava Gautier, Adriana, Angelo V., Jr., and Addelynn Giardina of Covington.

Pallbearers are Jimmy, Jason, and James W. “Zeke” Bankston, Titan Gautreau, Lee Cannizaro, and nephew, David Scott.

Visitation and Service will be held at Harry McKneeley & Son Funeral Home in Hammond on Tuesday morning, August 24, from 9-11 a.m. with the service at 11:00a.m. Interment following at Colonial Cemetery in Independence.
