Martha Jo Hutson

Martha Jo "Marti" Hutson, 71, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

She was born on Wednesday, March 12, 1947, in Laurel, Mississippi. Marti was a retired teacher with more than 30 years of service in the Livingston Parish Public School System, where she touched the lives of  thousands of people. She was a resident of Central, Louisiana.  

Marti is survived by her two sons, Lyle Hutson and Bryan Hutson and his wife Courtney; grandchildren, Hannah, Ryleigh, Seth and Xander Hutson; sister, Marilee Dickson and her husband Paul; brother-in-law Henry Hutson and his wife Jeanne, and brother-in-law Mark Hutson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Clifford and Georgia Knight; husband, Carl S. Hutson; and brother-in-law, Tommy Hutson.

Visitation for family and friends will be on  Friday, January 4, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Blackwater United Methodist Church, 10000 Blackwater Road, Baker, Louisiana 70714. Visitation will resume on Saturday, January 5, 2019  at 12:00 pm until the Funeral Service begins at 2:00 pm at Blackwater United Methodist Church.

Interment will follow in the Zoar Baptist Church Cemetery, Central, Louisiana.
