On July 31st, 2024, Marjorie Catherine McCrocklin Guillie, 91, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Daughter of Mary Margaret Halstead McCrocklin and Lee Frank McCrocklin she was born in New Orleans on August 8, 1932. After graduating from Eleanor McMain High School she was employed as an executive secretary at The George H. Lelightner Company. 

On March 7, 2020, Marvin Paul Guillie, 92, entered into his eternal rest with the Lord. He was born in New Orleans on September 27, 1928 to Marguerite Cora Verdon Guillie and William Joseph Guillie. After attending Jesuit High School, he joined the Navy as a Yeoman 3rd Class and proudly served his country on the island of Siapan. Upon his return to New Orleans he was employed at the George H. Lelightner Company where he met Marjorie. There their love story began. 

Married on May 23, 1952, they resided in Harahan, Jefferson, and Metairie, LA, Hacoda, AL and finally in Ponchatoula , LA. Both were longtime members of Carrollton Presbyterian Church, Fellowship Bible Church, and Dothan Community Church.

Marjorie was a loving homemaker and devoted mother while Marvin began his 35 year career at IBM. He served as a coach and administrator for Special Olympics. Upon his retirement, they relocated to Hacoda, Alabama where they both served for almost 30 years at Camp Victory touching the spiritual lives of innumerable adults and children. He also was a volunteer archivist at Fort Rucker in Samson, AL. 

Parents to Gregory Paul Guillie (Robin), Suzanne Elizabeth Huffman (Charles “Chuck”), Annette Catherine Tullier (Ronald “Ronnie”), Nancy Margot Clement (Brian), and Douglas Michael Guillie (Marisa). Cherished grandparents to Ashley Elizabeth Guillie, Nicole Pauline Guillie Foster, Lindsey Michelle Guillie Dean, Dani Willis Spillman, Tyler Stephen Guillie, Sarah May Guillie, Aaron Michael Huffman, Lauren Elizabeth Huffman Opperman, Carbett “Corey” Joseph Barrilleaux, Colin Joseph Barrilleaux, Jr., Chad Joseph Barrilleaux, Amy Catherine Barrilleaux Koch, Alison Catherine Barrilleaux Babin, Jessica Celeste Clement Gorman, Jarad Paul Clement, Michael James Guillie, Joseph Paul Guillie, and Daniel Virgil Guillie. Great grandparents and great-great grandparents to many. Also survived by devoted niece Kathy Oren McCrocklin. 

Marvin and Marjorie returned to Ponchatoula, LA and resided at Ponchatoula Community Care Center until their passing. Their incredible lives will be celebrated on August 6, 2024, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 West Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, LA. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at Sandhill Cemetery in Ponchatoula.
