Marilyn Husser Vicknair, 74 years old of Husser, Louisiana, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 29, 2018, at St Tammany Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on Saturday, August 5, 1944, in Amite, Louisiana daughter of Muriel L. and Hilda Burnthorn Husser.

Mrs. Vicknair was a member of St Dominic Catholic Church in Husser, Louisiana. She worked as a paraprofessional for Independence Leadership Academy. She loved her job and considered her coworkers family.

Surviving are her daughter, JoBeth Vicknair Faust (Bobby); step-son, Travis Vicknair (Mayme); grandchildren, Grayson Robert Faust, Collin and Shaye Vicknair; sisters, Jessie Husser Guichard (Maurice) and Hope Husser Tate; special nieces and nephews, Renee Guichard McKee (Pat), Charity Ann Rick, Robert Leonard Guichard, Frank Rick IV (April), Lance Vicknair (Crystal), and numerous other nieces and nephews that she loved as her own. She was affectionately known as "Aunt Marilyn" to many people.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Sidney Vicknair, Jr.; and her infant son, Lucas Ivy Vicknair.

Friends will be received Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond and again on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond from 9:30 am until 11:00 am.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, with  Fr.Cayet Mangiaracina, O.P. officiating.

Interment will follow in the Ponchatoula Cemetery.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff in the Neuro ICU at St Tammany Hospital.
