Marie-Reine "Laly" Bitoun Engeran

Marie-Reine "Laly" Bitoun Engeran passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, in Slidell, Louisiana, at the age of 80.  She was born on Saturday, October 9, 1943 in Algeria to the late Messaouda Fortune Benhamou Bitoun and the late Abraham Bitoun.  She was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana.

Laly is survived by her sons, Jean-Jacque "JJ" Engeran and Marc Engeran; step-son, Lloyd Engeran, Jr.; step-daughter, Avra O'Dwyer; grandchildren, Tyler, Spencer, Rachel, Rebecca, Ruth, Jeremy, Bambi, Tara, Christy, Jennifer, and Laura; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Dev, Ashton, Josephine, Nicole, Ema, Henri, Seath, Ella Sophia, Jacquelyn, Patrick, and Kathryn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Laly was also preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Joseph Engeran, Sr.; her granddaughter, Julie; and her siblings, Jeaneau Bitoun, Jacque Bitoun, Odet Kadouch, Andre Bitoun, Alice Bouskila, Simon Bitoun, Maurice Bitoun, and Michelle Firmin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 1:00 PM.

Interment will follow at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana.
