Margaret "Margie" Capadona Liuzza, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at The Phoenix at Hammond on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the age of 88. She was born on August 9, 1936, in Independence, Louisiana, the daughter of the late George Capadona Sr. and Frances Fresina Capadona. Margie’s roots were firmly planted in a farming family, where she learned the values of hard work and dedication from an early age. She met her husband, Joe, through their farming families, and they became the original owners of Liuzza Produce Farms. Their son, Anthony, kept the legacy alive and grew the farm into one of the largest strawberry and vegetable farms in the state. Their daughter, Cindy, built on the family tradition by opening the beloved local establishment, Berry Town Produce. In her retirement, Margie found joy in baking Italian cookies and breads for the Berry Town stores. Margie devoted her life to love, family, and faith. As a proud great grandmother of fourteen, she would often help with carpooling and never missed the opportunity to attend games, recitals and activities. Each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren held a special place in her heart. As a devoted Catholic, Margie’s faith influenced all aspects of her life and provided guidance and strength through every season. Margie’s legacy of love, commitment to family, and community involvement will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.
Margie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Lucinda Liuzza; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Ronny Henderson; five grandchildren, Joey Liuzza (Nichole), Kevin Liuzza (Elizabeth), Scott Henderson (Kaylin), Justin Henderson (Baleigh), and Amy Jo Henderson Shaw (Gavin); 14 great grandchildren, Addy, Brady, Jean, Brandt, Isabella Rose, Juliana, Brooks, Kaylee, Preslee, Braxton, Joseph, Thomas and twins, Avery and Ruby; brother, George Capadona Jr. (Carmelite).
In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Joe" Michael Liuzza.
