Margaret Bauerle Gomez"Grit"

Margaret "Grit" passed away on Friday, January 28th, 2022, two days before her 92nd birthday in Landmark Nursing home. She was born in Hammond, Louisiana, on January 30, 1930. Margaret grew up on a farm and attended Hammond High School, graduating in 1950. She is now reunited with her loved ones, especially her cherished son, Gary (1955-1978); her beloved twin sister, Marjorie; and her best friend, Nell.

She is survived by her brother, Robin Bauerle; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Grit was preceded in death by her parents, Mahlon DeWitt Bauerle and Thelma Alexander Bauerle; her beloved son, Gary Gomez; her twin sister, Marjorie Bauerle Baker; her brother Gene Bauerle; and her soulmate, Nell Robertson.

Relatives and friends are invited to a commemoration of her life at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, February13th, 2022, followed by fellowship and shared memories at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd in Hammond, Louisiana. Interment will follow in New Beulah Cemetery.
