Margaret "Marty" Galloway Alack

Margaret "Marty" Galloway Alack passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 57. Born on March 22, 1967, in Bogalusa, Louisiana, to the late Sylvia Carlisle Galloway and Murphy Galloway, Jr., she was a cherished resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, and a beloved hairdresser for over 30 years.

Marty cared deeply for her family, her friends, and her neighbors. Her front porch, a favorite spot for conversation, saw many visitors over the years who sought her company, wisdom, and humor. Her kitchen island was often a gathering place for friends and family, where she and her husband found joy in feeding others. Known for her generosity and compassion, Marty opened her home to many throughout her life and was always the first to lend a helping hand. She loved tending to her plants, caring for her boxers, and always loved a good project.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Colby Nagem (Jenee), Neal Alack (Jessica), and Joel Alack (Leslie); her treasured grandchildren, Elnee, Augustine, Theodore, Addison, Andrew, Levi, and Olivia. Marty is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Linda Galloway Shaffer, Erin Galloway McAndrew, and Shawn Galloway Maxwell; her sisters-in-law, Charlan Faucheaux (Phillip) and Rose Faucheaux (Robert); and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony R. Alack; her sister-in-law, Janet Alack Martin; and her parents-in-law, Charles and Antoinette Alack.

Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Marty's life. A visitation will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Sunday, March 30, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.

After the service, a celebration of life will take place at Twin Steeples from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM.

Interment for Marty will be private.
