Marcy Lynn Lemay Jones

Marcy Lynn Lemay Jones, age 43 passed away peacefully at home on March 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Marcy was born in Hammond, LA on January 30, 1981, and was a resident of Tickfaw, LA.  Family meant everything to Marcy. Her children were her pride and joy. She spent most of her days making memories with them on the family “compound”. Marcy had the kindest heart and a smile and laugh that would brighten up any room. She had so many amazing talents and could never say the word no to anyone. Marcy was a 1999 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School.  She was an outstanding teacher at Mater Dolorosa Catholic School, her alma mater, and more recently taught at Midway Elementary School and loved her students as if they were her own. Her family rejoices in knowing that this is not goodbye but simply “see ya later”. 

She will be missed by her husband of 20 years Douglas Jones, daughter Addison Kylie, son Tucker Douglas, and puppy Stella, her parents, Michael and Sherry Tucker Lemay, mother-in-law, Margaret “Maggie” Jones, brother and his wife, Christopher & Candace Lemay, sister and her husband, Hailey and Sammy Taylor, sister-in-law and boyfriend, Gail Jones and Jason Bliss, brother-in-law and his wife, Matt and Julie Jones, niece and godchild Jayden Lemay, nephew Brody Lemay, nieces and nephews Carly, Kelsey, Caleb, Isabella, Paisley, Jack, and Weslyn Jones, grandmothers Rosie Manina Tucker and Frances Calderone Lemay, Godchildren Louie Tregre III, Elizabeth Brouillette, and Emily Brouillette, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. 

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Edwin “Buddy” Tucker and Albert Lemay, father-in-law Galen Jones, aunt Melanie Lemay, and cousin Matthew Hawkins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation in the chapel of Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd., Hammond, LA on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, 14450 Hwy 442, Tickfaw, LA on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Pompeii Cemetery, Tickfaw, LA.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Hammond and Ponchatoula.
