Maggie Elizabeth Bryan

Maggie Elizabeth Bryan, of Hammond, Louisiana, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at the age of 94. She was born on Monday, October 22, 1928, in Patrick, Chesterfield County, South Carolina. She was a homemaker as well as determined and independent like her grandmother, Katie, always knowing how to make the best of hard times yet always loving and kind to her family.

Mrs. Bryan was preceded in death by her sons, Harry Ross Horne and Clarke Howard Horne; daughters, Thelma Augusta Horne, Patricia Dale Horne, and Ethel Lee Teagraden. Parents were Wesley Thomas Bryan of Clinton, Maryland, and Maggie Rebecca Ann Polson Bryan of Patrick, South Carolina; paternal grandparents were John Wesley and Catherine Bonham Bryan of Wilmington, North Carolina; maternal grandparents were Wilson W. and Katherine (Katie Shaw) Polson of Patrick,, South Carolina; and her brothers were William Henry Bryan of El Paso, Texas and Thomas Bryan of North Carolina.

She is survived by her children, Hobert Horne, Kathleen Horne Lavigne and son-in-law Gary Lavigne, and Sandra Horne Parnell; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 am.

A Funeral Service will also be held at Millers Rivers Caulder Funeral Home in Chesterfield, South Carolina at a later date.

Interment will follow at Katie Polson Cemetery in Patrick, South Carolina.
