Mabel Rose Norman Carlton Smith

Mabel passed away peacefully at her home in Hammond, August 25, 2021, at age 79.  She is survived by her son Timothy Carlton (Lisa); daughter, Mona “Sissy” Ogima; sisters, Leona Kinchen, Jackie Genco, Nancy Sparks, Lucille Whittington, Judy Covington, and Mona Milton (Wyman); brother, Charles Norman, III (Daisy); grandchildren, Byron (Megan), Frankie (Amanda), Mark, Scott, Jenna (Earl), Tiffany, Scottie, Rachel,  Dustin, and Lilly; and great grandchildren, Treston, Brooklyn, Skylar, Alexis, Trey, Lucas, Haisley, Christopher, Alyssa, Sandy, J.J., Laken, Raegan, and Sophia.  Mabel is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Norman, Jr. and Theresa Norman Genardo; children, Darlene Carlton Pecoraro, Patrick Carlton, and Francis Harold Carlton, Jr., and a brother, William “Bill” Norman.  Visitation will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Friday, September 10, 2021, from 12:00 pm until religious services at 2:00 pm conducted by Pastor Mark Dunn.  Interment will follow in Gatlin Cemetery.
