Lydia “Hidi” E. Dugas

Lydia went to her heavenly home on February 2, 2022.  Hidi was known for her spunky spirit, lack of filter, and her love for her family.  She enjoyed dancing, drinking coffee and playing Bingo. Hidi was never one to complain or gripe and loved the simple life but was also a loving mother and grandmother who would give the love or the discipline when needed.  Hidi will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Thelma McCahill, Rose Dugas Sullivan and husband Richard, Louis Dugas and wife Catherine, Anthony Dugas and wife Heather, and Allen Dugas; 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Frances Milton and Jerry Ellenberger.

Lydia is preceded in death by her husband, Noah J. Dugas Sr.; son, Noah J. Dugas Jr.; parents, Rose and Jacob Ellenberger; numerous siblings and one great granddaughter.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow in Wadesboro Catholic Cemetery in Ponchatoula.
