Lucy went to her heavenly home on Sunday, July 3, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 81.  She enjoyed going to church and visiting with her church family.  Lucy never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need.  She would often be found planting flowers in her garden or in the kitchen whipping up everyone's favorite dish, from her famous banana pudding or her biscuits that were made with love or her family reunion jambalaya.  Her family was her world and she loved them all so dearly, family get togethers are forever changed but her memory will live on forever in their hearts.  Lucy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her, and is already so deeply missed.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Eugene Williams Sr.; children, Eugene Willliams Jr. (Becky), James Williams Sr. (Delisa), and Sarah Williams (Ron).  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Michelle, Eugene III, Melanie, James Jr., Jonathan, Samantha, and Ember; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as her sisters, Evonne Howell, Ruth Rushing, and Ann Coates; care giver, Roxanne Dauzat; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Cleon and Lillie Kirkland; sisters, Lee Lamonte, Ruby Nicolosi, and Margaret Carpenter; and her brother, Albert Kirkland.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on July 8, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m.  Bro. Leonard Rushing will officiate the services with interment in Howell Cemetery.
