Lucy Anders Braun

Lucy Anders Braun, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away at North Oaks Medical Center on Monday, September 13, 2021, at the age of 78. She was born on February 15, 1943, in Shreveport, Louisiana, the daughter of the late George Anders and Kathryn Gibson Anders. Lucy was an elementary school teacher for over 28 years in Jefferson and Tangipahoa Parishes. She worked very hard for her master’s degree in education from Southeastern Louisiana University. Lucy was a devoted wife, and she adored her children and grandchildren. Lucy also enjoyed reading books, traveling and having a glass of wine with her family and friends.

Lucy is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Kevlin Braun; children, Bernie Braun (Jessica), Jill Balisteri (Ray) and Jan Spier (Warren); grandchildren, Jacob Braun, Reed Braun, Courtney Balisteri, Ryan Balisteri, Chandler Goudeau, and Noah Goudeau; and sister, Linda Fields.

In addition to her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her stepfather who helped raise her, Otis Everage.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am, with Deacon Mike Agnello officiating.

Interment will follow at Ponchatoula Cemetery in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
