Lucius Walter "Blackie" Morse, age 74 of Ponchatoula , Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020, at his residence. He was born December 11, 1945, in Independence, Louisiana. He was a member of the 205th Engineers and retired from the Army after 32 years of service. He also enjoyed fishing, boating and just being outside, but his greatest joy was being a Minister and Pastor for the past two years at New Hope Pentecostal Church in Folsom Louisiana.
Lucius is survived by his wife of twenty seven years,Vickie Pigg Morse; their daughter Nicole Morse; his daughters Debra Morse (Peroka), Bonnie Stephens (John), Karla Coker (Scott), and Sass Crain; grandchildren, Drew Schiller (Shelby), Troy Schiller (Rachel), Grahm Bengs, Fisher Coker, Crosby Coker, Morgan Coker, Ryan Crain; great granddaughter Ella Schiller; his sisters, Judy Crawford, Kathy Sharp, Donna Little, Carman Lawson, Kim Lee, Phyllis Byers, Gwen Williams, and Krystal Blow; and his brothers, Danny Thompson, Reed Thompson, Aldon Morse, Micheal Morse, and Jack Salisbury.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucius A. Morse and Julia Tucker Morse Thompson; sister, Linda Oalmann; and nephew Allen Barker.
Family and  friends will be received at Calvary Pentecostal Church 14602 Jericho Road, Hammond, LA, 70401, on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 9:00 to 12:00 with Funeral services starting at 12:00.
Interment will follow at Cruthirds Memorial Gardens in Ocean  Springs, Mississippi.
