Louis John Rodriguez, Jr.

Louis John Rodriguez Jr. of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the age of 65. He was born on Friday, January 23, 1959, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Louis John Sr. and Opal Lee Rodriguez.

Louis graduated from Ponchatoula High School and went on to become a Machinist. He was good at everything he did, from welding to sheetrock, he could remodel anything. Louis’s main passions in life were his family and fishing. You could always find him with a fishing rod in his hand or riding his motorcycle around town. Louis enjoyed spending time with family in Lee's Landing where he grew up and in North Alabama. He always looked forward to fishing trips to Grand Isle.

Louis is survived by his daughter, Melissa Rodriguez (Brian); son, Louis J. Rodriguez IV (Jamie); grandchildren, Jayden Bozeman, John and Sophie Rose Rodriguez; brother, Richard Rodriguez (Pat); brother, Lionel Rodriguez; sister, Brenda Husser (Frankie); half-brother, Rodney Mishina; and former wife, Betty Crockett, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Louis is also survived by many cousins; he shared a special bond with them and considered them his siblings.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leslie Rodriguez; son, Louis John Rodriguez, III; aunt, Neva Teel; and uncle, Ola Teel.

A private memorial service for Louis will be held at a later date.
