Louis Kenneth "Kenny" Ridgel, age 85, of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023, at home surrounded by family. He was born February 15, 1938 in Tickfaw, Louisiana, to Louis Ridgel and Helen Williams Ridgel. Kenny was the proud owner of Kenny's Quick Stop for 34 years. Kenny also served as a Tangipahoa Parish School Board member for 21 years. Kenny was the best Dad, Pawpaw, and Poppy that anyone could wish for. He will be deeply missed,
Kenny is survived by his daughter, Susan Ridgel Gatlin; grandchildren, Eric Ridgel, Morgan Gatlin, Bailey Gatlin Gordon (Christopher); 4 great-granddaughters that he adored, Addilyn Gatlin and Lylah, Clarke, and Grace Gordon. He is also survived by his brother, Colin Ridgel and sister, Linda Ridgel.
Kenny is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Scroggins Ridgel; son, Kenneth Ridgel; parents, Louis and Helen Ridgel; brothers, Louis Ridgel, Jesse Ridgel, Edward Ridgel, Victor Ridgel, and Keith Ridgel; and sisters, Josie Pradat, Louise LeGerne, and Janice Ridgel.
The family would like to thank Modern Hospice for their excellent care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Monday, July 31, 2023, beginning at 9:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM.
Interment will follow in Mt. Stevens Cemetery, Independence, Louisiana.
