Dr. Louis J. Schultz, Sr, age 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Richard Murphy Hospice House. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, and served his community as a lifelong educator, principal, and administrator.  He retired from Southeastern Louisiana University. He and his loving wife enjoyed meeting numerous friends for lunch at many local Hammond restaurants, and he loved working in his garden planting various kinds of flowers and vegetables.  Lou loved spending time with his many friends and family. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed by all.

Lou leaves behind his adoring wife of 45 years, Mary Ann Carreca Schultz ; daughters Terri Ann Schenk (Raymond), Amy Schultz; sons Charles Hutchinson (Zaklina) , Arthur Schultz, Louis Schultz; sister Elizabeth Schultz Surgi (Gene); Brothers Bill Schultz, Norman Schultz; grandchildren, Natalia and Izabella Hutchinson, Brandi Givens (Jeff), Daniel Conti (Hope) , Madison Conti, Joshua Conti; great-granddaughter, Emilia Parrozzo (Brandi);   as well as numerous relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Schultz and Elizabeth and Tom Perkins

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home Hammond, LA.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Hammond   , 2000 N. Morrison Blvd Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Sunday, November 3, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Services will be held at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, on Monday, at 11:00 am

Interment will follow at Colonial Cemetery in Independence, Louisiana.
