Louis "Jay" Delaney

Louis "Jay" Delaney, 93 of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, in Hammond. He was born on April 20, 1923, in Alexandria, Louisiana to Charles V. and Lillie L. Delaney, Sr. Jay enjoyed life and loved gardening, dancing, cars and was the care provider for his family.

Jay is survived by his loving wife, Mary Delaney, his stepdaughters, Michelle Sanders and her husband Chad and Jennifer Beaver, his grandsons, Master Dylan Sanders, Jeremiah Sullivan and Mr. Jordan Sanders, his niece, Peggy Fabre and her husband Terry, his nephew, Jerry Delaney and his wife Patti, also many other nieces, nephews and close friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles V. and Lillie L. Delaney, Sr., his brothers, Charles, Jr., Bobby, Sam, Johnny and Lawrence "Red" Delaney and his sister, Rose Delaney.

A Visitation for Jay will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2016 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond with a rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass Celebrating Jay's Life will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016 11:00am at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond. Entombment will follow at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery.
