Louis Diego Gallo

Louis Diego Gallo, 64, passed away peacefully at his home in Hammond, Louisiana on April 29th, 2023 and is now free to hood surf for all of eternity. He was born on August 26, 1958, in Santa Monica California, the son of the late Ignatius Salvador (Nash) Gallo and Nancy Donnell Bowen.  Louis was a graduate of Hammond High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree at Southeastern Louisiana University in 1988. 

Louis is survived by his son, Dylan Louis Gallo, daughter, Sophia Mary Gallo, mother of his children, Michelle Gallo, aunt, Mary Ann (Aunt MAC) Carder, aunt Maxie Gallo, sister-in-law Garland Gallo, Cousins Michael Andrew Kelly and Louis James Gallo of Louisiana, his brother, V.P. Buzzy Gallo, sister-in-law Darnell Gallo, nephew Christian Nash Gallo, of Mississippi, nephew Ian Lazard Roley of Texas and aunt, Kris Donnell of Tennessee.  

In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his brother Roy Vincent Gallo, uncle Deigo Dominick (Sam) Gallo, grandparents Louis J. Gallo and Mary Miciotto Gallo. He would be very upset if we didn’t include Elvis. 

Louis loved his children “to Pluto and back”. He was very proud of them.  He had a great love for music, hence the mention of Elvis. Louis’ favorite quote, “I’m not avoiding anyone in particular, but everyone in general.”

Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd. in Hammond from 1:00p.m. until 3:00m p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2023, with a few words on Louis's life at 3:00p.m.

Immediately following services, a celebration of life will be at Benny’s Bar 204 W Thomas Street, Hammond LA 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center or for beer at Benny’s.
