Lorraine Z. Roussel

Lorraine Z. Roussel, age 81, peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born to the late Georgina and Leon Wempren Sr. in New Orleans on February 5, 1942.  Lorraine could often be found at garage sales searching for antiques to collect or just a good deal, sitting on the porch watching the hummingbirds, playing bingo, visiting the camp or out fishing.  She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers or working in her yard.  When Lorraine was in the kitchen cooking, the family came running, especially when it came to her famous noodles and cheese dish.  Her greatest accomplishment in life was her grandchildren, she loved spending time with them making lasting memories that the family will cherish forever.  Lorraine was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who is already missed dearly.  

She is survived by her sons, Carl Wempren Sr. and wife Bridget; Randy Wempren and wife Ranell, Dirk Zeringue Sr. and wife Rachel; grandchildren, Carl Jr. "CJ", Johnny, Jenny and husband Kodie, Jamie, Ashley and husband Max, Dirk Jr. "DJ"; 12 great-grandchildren; as well as her sister-in-laws, Darlene and Sammie Wempren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Melvin Zeringue; grandson, Josh, brothers, Allen Wempren and Leon Wempren Jr. "LJ"; and her parents, Georgina Duhe Wempren and Leon Wempren Sr.

A private burial will take place at a later date.
