Lorene Varnell

Lorene Varnell passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 87.  She was born on Monday, May 27, 1935 in Winnfield, Louisiana to the late Octavia Willie and the late Arthur Bright.

Lorene is survived by her husband of 72 years, Delton Varnell; daughters, Glenva Puma and her husband, Larry, Delta Kovach and her husband, Frank, and Shirley Hoback and her husband, Vernon; grandchildren, Shawn Crawford (Jonny Daniel), George Crawford, Jr., Bridgett K. Mack (Shane), Amy M. Watts (Jim), Wyatt Crawford (Natasha), Kyle McKaskle (Amy), and Robin Crawford; great-grandchildren, Sierra, Dylan, Mindy, Annabelle, Emma, Emily, Leah, Brady, Elizabeth, Adalyn, Charlie, Sadie, and Lincoln.

In addition to her parents, Lorene is also preceded in death by her grandson, Ryan Frank Kovach; her brother, Clarence Bright; and her sisters, Betty Ruth Boatwright, Beatrice Killen, and Dorothy Mae Barton.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Thursday, June 30, 2022, beginning at 9:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM.

Interment will follow in Hungarian Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Albany, Louisiana.
