Born in Houma on May 5th, 1945, for 53 years the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (Betty) Fried Olsen, father of Eric Olsen, Erin McMillion, Holly Olsen and Heidi Vicknair, Paw Paw Lloyd to Bailey Olsen, Jordan McMillion, Chandler Olsen, Parker Olsen, Garrett McMillion, Cole McMillion, Ireland Vicknair, and Anne-Marie Vicknair and Great Paw Paw Lloyd to Elijah McMillion. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, his brother Albert, and his parents, Philip and Clara Olsen. He is survived by his brothers Ray, Donald, and Paul, his sisters Claire and Lois, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Master Sergeant Olsen was a 20 year veteran of the US Air Force and Louisiana Air Guard, and after his military retirement joined the US Postal Service as Paw Paw Fred the Mailman, a fixture at the Ponchatoula Post Office for 33 years. Lloyd was a fan and scholar of almost every sport on earth. He was a lifetime dedicated collector of Mardi Gras memorabilia, firearms and coins, an outstanding marksman, and a sportsman who bowled a 264 tournament, won several amateur championships and was recognized as a Greater New Orleans 225 season average holder. We will all miss his laughter and generous spirit. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral mass for both Lloyd and Betty at St Joseph's Catholic Church, at 1:30 PM on June 8th.
