Linda Steele DePhillips

Linda Steele DePhillips, formerly of Denham Springs, Louisiana, passed away at Ponchatoula Community Care Center on Friday, August 9, 2024, at the age of 78. She was born on September 11, 1945, in Smithdale, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Prentiss Lee Steele and Esma Lee Westbrook Steele. Linda was a faithful and devoted wife to her husband and loved her family dearly. She worked at Walmart in Hammond in customer service for over 20 years and made so many close friends there.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by the love of her life, King DePhillips Sr.; granddaughter, Heather Hiers; grandson, King "Trey" DePhillips III; siblings, Beverly Roberts and Vernon "Buddy" Steele; and nephew, Van Edward Steele.

Linda is survived by her children, Tammy Martin, Tena Taylor (Brian), Bettilee Albers (Rowdy), Michael DePhillips (Carol), King DePhillips Jr., Tammy DePhillips Tanner, and Denise Boseman; sisters, Shirley Gordon and Kathy Henley (Danny); sister-in-law, Marylynn Steele; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Also a special thank you from the family to Brenda, Nesha, Bonnie, and all of the staff at Ponchatoula Community Care Center for their compassionate care.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. 

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am, with Michael DePhillips officiating.

Interment will follow at Narretto Cemetery in Loranger, Louisiana.
