Lena "Nani" Calderone

Nani was born September 18, 1927, in Tickfaw, LA to the late Sam Victor and Lena Valure Orlando, and passed away July 29, 2021, at North Oaks Hospital at the age of 93.  She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, Tickfaw, and she and her husband were Famers.  Nani enjoyed tending her vegetable garden and flower gardens, especially her azaleas.  She is survived by her sisters, Catherine Calderone and Carmella Lence; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Tony Calderone; brothers, Victor Orlando and Tony Orlando; and sisters, Ann Lacara and Mary Gourges.  Visitation will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd., Hammond, Monday, August 2, 2021, from 8:30 am until religious services at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the church mausoleum.
