Lena Gagliano Martinez

Lena Gagliano Martinez, age 98 of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at North Oaks Medical Center. She was born on Saturday, January 8, 1921, in Hammond, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Nick Gagliano and Mary Nuccio Gagliano.

Mrs. Lena is survived by her nephew and godson, Fred C. Piazza; nieces, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Abel Martinez; sisters, Louise G. Tranchina, Katherine Piazza, and Josie G. Costa; and brothers, Peter and Joe Gagliano. She will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal wife, sister, aunt, and godmother.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at Colonial Cemetery Mausoleum, Independence, LA, on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 11:00 AM with Fr. Cayet officiating.
