Leigh Candice Stodola

On September 7, 2021, at age 40, our beautiful Leigh Candice Stodola went to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior.  She was a precious daughter to William R. Miller and Carol Ciluffo born on September 17, 1980 in Metairie, Louisiana.
As a child, Leigh was fearless.  She could hold her own with all her brothers and everyone else for that matter.  She would bungee jump from unimaginable heights without blinking. She was an extraordinarily strong young lady with her own opinion of how things should be done.  She was usually right too.  Her gorgeous smile brightened all our lives.  She had a wonderful sense of humor, a tender heart and was fiercely loyal.   We were so blessed to have her in our lives.
Leigh graduated from Ponchatoula High School and was a caring, sensitive and loyal friend to all.  She was chosen to lay a wreath on the tomb of the Unknown soldier in Washington D. C.  After graduation Leigh started working at a daycare and loved caring for the children, she worked at several restaurants and no one could understand why she always made such huge tips.  She worked as beauty consultant for Clinique and also worked in a law office.
When she met the love of her life her priorities changed.  She was a loving wife to Steve Stodola (her Bat-Man) and devoted her life to him and her four sons, Brennan, Shastyn, Jaxon and Ryker.  She adored making things extra fun and special for her family, whether it be having crawfish boils, making up treasure hunts for the family to play, putting together Disney Lego castles, decorating for holidays that was the envy of the neighborhood or playing board games for hours (but couldn’t win at Monopoly).  Her artistic ability was unbelievable.  She enjoyed taking family vacations, especially to Disney World, her happy place.  She was an excellent pianist and had the voice of an angel.  When she went on a mission trip to Mexico she was deeply moved and always had a deep desire to go again.  She always had a love of flying and flew her first plane in 2019.  There was nothing that she couldn’t do.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents William and Marjorie Stenning, her paternal grandparents Ralph and Carmen Prewitt and  Max Miller, her step father, Edwin C. Pemberton Sr. and her younger brother Shane Michael Pemberton.
She is survived by her loving husband, children and parents as well as her siblings, Brandon Miller, Jace Pemberton, Graysen Hart, Garyn Miller, Eddie Pemberton Jr., Shannon Eustis and Brett Pemberton.   Also her Aunts, Uncles, cousin and a host of nieces and nephews and friends, which all will miss her dearly.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm on  Monday, September 20, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
