Laura Modica Harry passed away in the early morning hours Sunday, August 25, 2019, at the age of 82 after a long battle with Parkinson’s.  She was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and the daughter of the late Jerome Modica and Elenora D’Angelo.  She moved to Hammond, Louisiana in 1998 where she remained a resident. 

She is survived by husband, Ronald Harry, her brother, Ignatius Modica, her sister, Virginia Roper (Roger), and her children, James Harry(Valli), Judie Christopher (Kelly), Juel Poole (Randy), and Janet Hammons (Troy).  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Holly Harry Walters(James), Matthew Christopher (Christina), Jason Christopher (Kayla), David Christopher, Daniel Christopher, Courtney Poole McAliley (David), and Jonathan Poole.  She is also survived by four great grandchildren.

Laura retired from Orkin where she worked in the New Orleans district office for the better part of 45 years. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed square dancing, traveling, scrapbooking, camping, bowling, volleyball, softball, the Saints, and her children and grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 9:00 am until the Funeral Mass begins at 11:00 am at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 600 N. Oak Street, Hammond, Louisiana, 70401.

Interment will follow at St. Dominic Cemetery in Husser, Louisiana.
