Larry Alan Dunn of Tickfaw Louisiana peacefully passed away on August 24, 2023, at the age of 83.  He was born Friday, September 15, 1939 in Centralia, Illinois to the late Helen Virginia Dunn and the Late Alvin Dudley Dunn. 

Larry is survived by his children, Kevin Dunn (wife Lisa), Craig Dunn (wife Beth), Lynette Taylor (husband Michael Scott); Grandchildren, Joshua Dunn (wife Sarah), Caleb Dunn (wife Bethany), Hannah Williams (husband Khol), Christian Dunn, Jordan Dunn, Grant Dunn, Joel Dunn, and Milanya Taylor; Great-Grandchildren, Alyse Dunn, Ella Kate Dunn, Luke Dunn, Emmy Rose Dunn, Eva Grace Dunn, and many nieces and nephews.  

In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his sister Linda Drollinger; bother-in-law Gene Drollinger; and wife Mildred Cutrer Dunn.

Larry grew up in Carmi Illinois where he was raised among the oil industry, along side his father Al’s oil trucking business and his grandfather Les Wilson’s drilling company.  He maintained an interest and a love for his home town and family heritage all of his life.  He graduated From Carmi High School in 1958, and went on to the University of Southern Illinois where he studied in the field of Mechanical Engineering and Drafting.  After his spring classes, He moved to Florida to help his father with his hotel business, on Daytona Beach shores.  From there he went on to serve in the Air Force for 11 years at Nasa, in the engineering department with the Apollo Rocket Program.  He later moved to Louisiana where he met his wife of 50 years, Millie.  Together they built a life raising their children, working together at Bell South, and retiring to enjoy the rest of their days at home.  Larry was know for his many stories of days gone by. He will be missed, but his memory will live on with his children.
