Lana Levet Tramonte passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025, in Hammond, LA at the age of 65. She was born in Lutcher, LA to the late Elsie Detillier Levet and John T. Levet. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Wayne Joseph Tramonte; her daughter Lacie Tramonte Matherne and husband Blake; 2 grandsons, Brody Joseph and Landon Oliver; two sisters, Leslie Levet, Sally Edwards and husband Donnie, one brother, John C. Levet and wife Veronica; and her niece and nephews, Goddaughter Lauren Waldo, Alex Waldo, and Godson Zachary Edwards and wife Sara; and her beloved dog, Yoda. Lana is also survived by her husband’s five siblings, their spouses, and their children, whom she adored and was very close to. Lana was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother (“Nana”), daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met. She never met a stranger, and her joyful spirit lit up every room. Whether at a family gathering or a community event, Lana brought laughter, love, and a welcoming heart. Lana retired in 2020 after 40 years of dedicated service to the State of Louisiana, including many proud years as Administrative Assistant for the Louisiana Gaming Control Board. She was a faithful member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, and proudly served with the Southeastern Louisiana Fe-Lions Club. Some of her happiest moments were spent cheering on the New Orleans Saints and the Southeastern Lions. However, nothing brought her more joy than playtime with her beloved grandsons - they were the light of her life.
Visitation will be on held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 601 N Oak St., Hammond, on Friday, September 26th at 9:00 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery and Mausoleum in Hammond, LA.
Lana had a lifelong love for dogs and was a passionate supporter of humane societies and animal shelters. In her honor, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Tangi Humane Society or your local animal shelter. The family would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at the Richard Murphy Hospice House for the exceptional care and kindness they showed Lana in her final days. Donations to the hospice house in her memory are also deeply appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Hammond and Ponchatoula. An on-line guest book is available at www.harrymckneely.com.
