Kenneth Paul "Ken" Turnage

Kenneth Paul "Ken" Turnage, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away at North Oaks Medical Center on Monday, December 7, 2020, at the age of 73. He was born on September 10, 1947, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, the son of the late James Teaurlin Turnage and Pollie Taylor Turnage. Starting out at Avondale Shipyards as a pipe fitter and welder, Ken has worked most of his life in and around the oil fields. In the early 70's, Ken moved to Alaska and worked all around the state for over 20 years. Returning to Louisiana, Ken brought with him the family he started in Alaska. Ken was a 32nd Degree Mason and his two greatest passions were the outdoors, where he hunted and fished until he was physically unable, and his family that he leaves behind along with many cherished memories.

Ken is survived by his children, Angela Schreiner and husband Don, George Cowie and wife Beverly, Alex "Sandy" Cowie, John Teaurlin Turnage and wife Donna, Aaron Turnage and wife Stacey, Monica Chajon and husband Bruno, and Israel "Angel" Munoz and wife Diana; sisters, Jan Turnage and Robin Ward and husband Frank; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his sister, Celestine "Sissy" Lessard.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Family and friends are encouraged to send condolences and share memories online.
